How the anti-snoring mouthpiece works!

How to fit the SnoreMate mouthpiece

The SnoreMate mouthpiece is generally worn at night. It holds your lower jaw slightly forward while you sleep thus opening up or widening your airway (respiratory tract) which in turn enables air to flow more freely and at a slower rate. Vibration of the loose tissue ceases and snoring is eliminated..

Obstructed Airway without mouthpiece

Fill a container or kettle with enough water to allow the snoring mouth guard to be completely submerged. Heat on a stove or in the microwave until the water boils vigorously. Do not put the SnoreMate mouthpiece into the water whilst it is boiling. Remove the boiling water from the heat source.
Holding the tab, dip the mouthpiece into the hot water for exactly 12 seconds to soften the plastic. Be sure not to let the snore guard touch the sides of the container.
Remove the mouthpiece from the hot water and gently shake off the excess water.
Holding the tab with TOP facing upwards, move the lower jaw into a comfortable forward position. Place the warm mouthpiece onto the lower jaw and bite down in the forward position. (Remember that the more forward the lower jaw is, the better the result will be).
The SnoreMate will be warm, but will not burn you. Suck all of the air out of the mouthpiece, and use your tongue and lips to press against the mouthpiece for a tight fit. You can also use your fingers to press against your lips and cheeks to improve the custom fit.
Remove the mouthpiece and place it into ice-cold water to set the shape.
Insert the snoring mouthpiece into your mouth to check the fit.
We suggest that you do not remove the tab for the first night to ensure that you have the correct lower jaw position. It can then be removed by cutting it off with a pair of scissors as close to the mouthpiece as possible.
If you do not stop snoring completely, re-mould the SnoreMate with your jaw extended a little further forward. It may take a few nights to get accustomed to sleeping with the SnoreMate mouthpiece, but please persevere. A plastic watertight storage container is included in the pack. Use either toothpaste or mouthwash to keep the anti snore device hygienically clean.

Try the SnoreMate Test

SnoreMate works by moving the lower jaw forward during sleep. This allows the airway to increase in diameter, thereby reducing the velocity of the air traveling into the lungs, and hence eliminating or reducing the level of vibrations in the throat tissue.

Move your lower jaw forward. Now try and snore as hard as you can!
You can see if your lower jaw is pushed forward this position makes it nearly impossible to snore.
Move your lower jaw back and repeat the test.
If Step 1 reduced your snoring then SnoreMate will work for you.
